The Ghazale Residence is a contemporary three-story villa in Lebanon, the result of a collaborative work between architects Gilbert Zarka and Sahar Ghazale. This house is very attractive with the water Fountains and exterior design that resembles a tropical house. You will see some elements such as pergolas volumetric concrete, high chimneys and 13m high glass structure allows as much light as possible into the house. One of the main features of the park is a shallow pool with fountains and pergolas teak. Interior design is a continuation from the outside. Basalt stone walls keep the inside as much, red wall supporting the main staircase. In spite of it all finished in neutral tones show elegance and simplicity.

What do you do if one day you see that the home you’re living in, no longer suits your family’s needs? Most people would probably sell and buy something bigger. But not if you’re architect Adams Mohler Ghillino and if it’s the 810 SF, single-story house in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood. Previously a single-story environment, Ghillino has decided to expand the space by adding another level to the house and creating two distinct areas defined by a cedar-clad wood wall. As for the connection between the interior and the exterior, it fades away by using slide-fold doors. Lots of painted cement fiber siding, tight knot cedar plank feature wall, plywood soffits, aluminum windows and a Zincalume sheet metal roofing, have lead to a real piece of art.

Here is a home by Stevens Lawson Architects with an original and highly interesting architecture overlooking Browns Island in the Waitemata Harbour, New Zealand. Even though its exterior is certainly unique, the first impression when looking at this home is definitely not one of comfort or coziness. But don’t let the gray concrete fool you. As one steps inside, the perspective changes in an unexpected and pleasant way. A beautiful and stylish timber staircase connects the interiors. Its spiral shape has a dynamic effect on the overall interior design and is complemented by an elegant timber handrail.

Contemporary Floating Home in Seattle

This Contemporary Floating Home comes from Vandeventer Carlander Architects. It is located on Lake Union, right in the city center. This particular project was meant as a contemporary looking building with plenty of entertainment space. As you can see in the pictures below, there are many decks and the large floor to ceiling windows allow great views of the city in every direction. This is not exactly the most intimate crib, but it's okay, as long as the owners don't mind.
