Apparently, creative ideas are not so hard to come by. Creating a space that will not only solve the problem of visually delimitating the space but also creatively inducing the idea of separate office spaces, the bright minds from Radford Wallis graphic design studio managed to draw attention and reach the targeted public. Property developer Land Securities needed to divide a large space situated in London into distinctive office spaces that can be shown to potential tenants. Instead of appealing to the same overused walls and signs, they took the high road and created a very surprising space with the help of giant office supplies carefully placed in key areas. The outcome was inspired by the conditions of the site and the idea that needed to be conveyed into something palpable.

The City of Staples

Named “Ephemicropolis“, Root’s staple model, depicts a fragile micro city that could collapse at the slightest wind blow or vibration. Creative artist, Peter Root, showcases his latest project, a city model created only out of stacked staples. He used over 100,000 staples, for this project, and spent 40 hours stacking them. Some of the staple skyscrapers of Ephemicropolis are up to 12 cm tall, while some of the smaller buildings are represented by a single staple. The city covers a floor surface of 6m x 3m.

This amazing construction was built as a design showroom and it houses exhibition areas, a shop, a cafe which is also connected to the exterior and conference rooms. Its architecture is original and creative. It is located on the Rhine plain. Even though this building does not serve as a private residence, it would be fun to imagine how living there would feel like.
